Welcome to the Grouper Education Program’s new blog! My name is Todd Bohannon and I am the educator who will be working with you on this very exciting conservation project. Take a moment and read through the various informational tabs on this blog where you can learn more about the project. As we near the upcoming Nassau Grouper spawning event, taking place on the winter full moon, I will be creating a series of posts on this blog to prepare you for the work we will be doing. Check the site regularly and stay tuned for directions on how to respond to my posts with your questions and comments.
Cheers!!
Todd

Hi Phoebe!
Reef Sharks are awesome!!! But no, we haven’t seen any on this trip. We have seen a couple nurse sharks though!
Have you seen the Nassau Grouper spawn yet? If you have, was it cool and epic?

Hi Kennedy!
I dived last night with the Grouper and they were starting to spawn! It was very exciting. However, the big spawning event will most likely take place tonight. I will share some video with you guys as soon as it happens!
I’w one of Cayman Prep and High School and i would like to say
Hi Caitlin! It looks like your message was cut off. What did you want to say?
I’m one of the Cayman Prep and High School students and I would like to say I love what your doing . I have a question how many people works in REEF
Hi again!
Thanks so much for the email, Caitlin! I love what I am doing as well!
I just asked Christy and she said there are 5 full-time staff and 3 part-time staff members who work for REEF. The majority of the people who work with REEF, however, are volunteers. There are actually thousands of REEF volunteers who do everything from fish surveys to a number of ocean conservation projects around the world. Cool huh?!
Todd
