Check out the coloration on this Nassau Grouper!! None of the scientists here have seen anything like it before. We have decided to name her/him, Hula! Pretty cool, huh?!

Really cool Todd!
Oh wow that’s so cool and it’s really pritty
Awesome!!!
that is so cool why dose it have that strip on the middle?
The scientists are still unsure about why Hula has the stripe down the middle. Its a mystery! Do you a have a theory?
i just think she is different like all of us we each are different in our own special ways!!!!-marine
That Nassau grouper is amazing. Why is there a spot of black/brown on its tale?
The spot is called a saddle patch. But that actual part of the fish is called the Caudal Peduncle!
really cool!!!!!!! I wonder if it is trying to say somthing
Our theory is that maybe another kind of fish interfered with the spawning of Hula….
Could it be a NEW kind of grouper??!
Maybe Hula is in between her bi-color phases?
Could it be a genetic mutation?
wow i love hula please tell me more about her!!!!!!! she could be my best friend if i were a fish!!!
it looks like hula is wearing a hula skirt
i agree!
I think that hula’s DNA was messed up some way and that instead of her bi-color phase being white on the bottom black on the top (or is it the other way around?) her bi-color phase was side-to-side instead.
Have you seen hula at the SPAG lately Todd???????!!!!!!!?!?!
