Can you imagine what 7000 Nassau Grouper look like, all gathered together in one place? It’s an awe-inspiring sight and something I could not conceive of until I actually saw it for myself. Below are some videos that might help you to understand what an awesome sight it really is. Remember, these are big fish, many of which are 3 feet or longer!
Hey Todd – fabulous videos!!!! Is 7,000 about the same number of grouper as last year? And is the second video in your post from this time last year?
You guys must be feeling totally vindicated now given the success you’ve had with bringing back the Nassau grouper, huh? Congrats to the whole REEF team down there, we are totally in awe of your efforts! Yayyyy!!
7,000 is our count from last year. We won’t have a count for this year until everything is wrapped up. And yes, the spawning video is from last year. They have not spawned yet. Hopefully tonight. When they do, I will be sure to post!
